CareFRONTING NIGERIA

PEACE BUILDING AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION:

Carefronting runs workshops on peacebuilding, conflict abatement, conflict resolution, mitigation, management etc.

The workshop builds on participants self esteem, personal affirmation, respect for self and others and training on identifying causes of violence and skills needed to recognise and cope with them. Carefronting has done similar workshop with AVP Nigeria, Peace for Development Initiative etc

SETTING UP PEACE GROUPS AND MEDIATION TEAMS:

Carefronting designs and train individuals and groups on how to start and sustain peace groups (in schools and neighbourhood), carefronting also train on setting up mediation teams. They are at the moment doing that with Damietta peace Initiative in Nigeria.

INTER RELIGIOUS HARMONY:

The principal reason for violence in Northern Nigeria can be attributed to religious intolerance. Carefronting as an organisation based in Northern Nigeria has been involved with inter religious harmony and has been promoting inter religious dialogue and harmony with Bridge Builders association/British high commission and Damietta Peace Initiative in Northern Nigeria.

MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS (MDGs):

Carefronting Nigeria through its coordinator has been involved with training organisation and youths on the MDGs, in the area of awareness, monitoring and how to contribute to its attainment as an individual and organisation. It was a British Council/World bank funded programme (2006 - 2008).

RESEARCH AND ASSESSMENT:

Carefronting carries out research and on the Spot assessment in conflict zones; to ascertain the causes of violence in such areas, conflict and peace indicators, Internally dislaced persons (IDPs) and undertakes disaster and relief operations.

HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS training on affirmation and stigma and community theatre for awareness, we have also been involved with AIDs awareness campaign.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

We also organise strategic planning for schools; covering Communication, assertiveness, Teaching aids and techniques, adapting instructional materials and techniques to enviroment etc and have done same with various schools.
